Over the past decade, I've built a career in journalism, producing impactful documentaries for VICE on HBO, CBS News' 60 Minutes, and ABC's IMPACT x Nightline.

My journey into storytelling began in public service. When an 8.0-magnitude earthquake struck Sichuan in 2008, I volunteered in disaster relief, which led me to work with the Earthquake Resource Center for four years. That experience drove me to study public policy in the U.S., where I discovered journalism's true purpose: shining a light on underrepresented issues and inspiring action.

Growing up in China, I hadn't fully understood the power of the press to amplify the voices of those most affected by global challenges. My background in public policy and investigative journalism has since given me the tools to do exactly that — with both rigor and empathy.
